Photo-Sonics Inc.
has been awarded a $5.6M contract by the U.S. Army Program Executive
Office (PEO) for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (STRI) to
design and build a Mobile Multi-Sensor
Time-Space-Position-Information System (MMTS) for the U.S. Army
Redstone Technical Test Center (RTTC) at Redstone Arsenal. This
system will auto track and capture positional information of the
fastest hypervelocity missiles and projectiles. These systems are typically used in tracking missiles and projectiles for documentary visual presentation of the mission, and recording time-space-position-information (TSPI) for engineering analysis of flight trajectories and other performance measures. The basic capabilities of MMTS will auto track a target, acquire multi-spectral images (visible and IR) and synchronize them, and calculate positional information very accurately. MMTS also includes a motion analysis capability for 6DOF (six degrees of freedom) image processing. With the addition of an integrated continuous wave Doppler radar, MMTS also provides a single point solution for the capture of 3D data of the flight path of a projectile in real time. Photo-Sonics is a world leader in building tracking systems for military applications. |
